DASH

  • DASH can provide emergency and transitional safe housing to women and children in crisis and can provide resources for leaving or changing a dangerous housing situation. These services include resources for changing or ending a lease, resources for dealing with housing discrimination, resources for finding new housing, and help re-establishing financial and housing independence.

DC SAFE

  • SAFE provides advocacy for immediate crisis shelter, safety planning, legal information, help securing the victim’s home, emergency financial assistance for food, bus fare, and supplies for babies and children, access to the Emergency Temporary Protection Order (ETPO) process, and an emergency housing program called SAFE Space.

    SAFE Space offers 20 days of immediate crisis shelter for families who are victims of domestic violence and at the highest risk. SAFE Space provides a safe, quiet, full furnished apartment in which a family can recover, obtain the necessary social services to immediately sustain themselves and begin to make longer-term decisions about their future. DC SAFE staff are on site to assist with these important next steps, and a counselor is available on site.

My Sister's Place

  • My Sister's Place is a shelter for victims of domestic violence and/or intimate partner violence. In addition, the free, confidential hotline is accessible 24/7/365. The organization offers a full continuum of care from immediate crisis on the hotline through transitional-to-permanent housing.

The Virginia Williams Family Resource Center

  • The Virginia Williams Family Resource Center (VWFRC) is the central resource center for homeless families with minor and/or dependent children that are experiencing housing instability in the District. The VWFRC staff works collaboratively with families to prevent homelessness by exploring ways to keep them housed, helping them to identify housing options without entering shelter, and providing other support services such as public benefits, childcare, and employment assistance.

Martha's Table

  • Martha’s Table runs emergency relief programs that meet the basic, fundamental needs of our neighbors in crisis. Programs Include: McKenna’s Wagon, our daily mobile food truck; our 7 day a week emergency lobby market; our 4 pm daily meal service; and clothing services through Martha’s Outfitters and the Martha’s Outlet program.
